On Sunday 17 November, a number of students from The Women’s College performed an amazing concert for the KDF, raising over $10,000. This was followed by the unveiling of ‘Reflection’, a beautiful sculpture by Katrina’s mother Jane Dawson that was commissioned by the Women’s College in memory of Katrina.
Many thanks to Dr Amanda Bell, Dr Tiffany Donnelly and the Women’s College, for generously providing their time and resources, as well as the venue, to host this event. We are extremely grateful to the Foundation’s Founding Member, The Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO, for taking the time to speak at the event. Thanks also to the very talented musicians for their beautiful performances: Clare Fox, Alexandra Kin, Olivia Payne, Margot Roberts, James Armstrong, Caitlin Duncombe, Lily Innes, Julia Donnelly, Eleanor Foster, Paige Gullifer, Emily Joyce, Devina Maurice, Elise Morton, Clara Rudd and Paul Cheng (accompanist).
The sculpture, ‘Reflection’, in memory of Katrina, is made of 16mm thick mirror-polished stainless steel of six life sized College women in silhouette. It embodies the College motto “together” and is based on the principle that self-reflection is the university of the mind.
